Teeth Whitening

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening, or tooth bleaching, is a cosmetic dentistry procedure designed to remove stains and discoloration, as well as lighten pigmentation within the teeth. The level of whiteness that can be achieved will depend on the level of discoloration of the teeth and how they came to be stained. Teeth that are brown or yellow due to coffee, tea, or smoking stains will generally lighten four to five shades. Teeth that are gray due to pigmentation within the teeth will lighten two to three shades.

Professional Strength Gel with Customized Trays

It is important to have custom mouthpieces made to whiten your teeth properly. It is important that you apply the teeth whitening gel properly so you do not waste any of the gel and that you experience the least amount of sensitivity while using the gel. Each syringe should last 5 to 6 applications (3 syringes will last 15 plus nights).. When you apply the gel make sure not to overfill the trays. The teeth whitening procedure will whiten all type of stains. External stains like coffee, tea, tobacco, etc.; take the least amount of time to whiten. While internal stains like tetracycline, fluoride, genetic, aged, etc.; will whiten but take a longer time to see the results. Teeth whitening will not whiten dead teeth and will only remove stains off of the surface of any dental work (crowns, veneers, bridges, cavities, bonding, etc.).
